When you walk into COAH Lagos, the very first thing that comes to mind is how effortlessly beautiful and inviting the space feels. The greenery catches your eye immediately, softening the modern lines of the interior with a touch of nature. It’s the kind of balance that makes the room feel alive; sleek enough to be stylish, yet warm enough to feel welcoming.

Located on busy Lateef Jakande Road in Ikeja, this restaurant is a nice break from the chaos outside. The moment you sit down, you know this isn't your regular restaurant, it's a place that takes Nigerian food and gives it a fresh, modern twist that's both familiar and exciting.

Why We Love Coah

A Menu That Mixes Familiar Flavours with a Twist
The menu is impressively diverse, starting with creative starters like their Spicy Goat Meat Tacos and Pulled Tozo Sliders. Their Crispy Fish Croquettes are another standout; shredded fish mixed in herb roux, rolled in breadcrumbs and served with spicy tartar sauce.

Their Bang-Bang Chicken Skewers are a perfect example of their approach. The chicken is near-tender and perfectly spiced, not too hot, with a sauce that's both sweet and spicy. What's even better is that they'll make it milder if you ask, which is great for people who don't handle pepper well.

The Mixed Seafood Peppersoup Bisque is another winner. The broth is rich and well-spiced, with plenty of fish and calamari, and it comes with soft, fluffy, sweet garlic bread that goes perfectly with the soup.

For mains, they offer everything from Prawn & Chickpea Curry to Mixed Seafood Linguine that you can get with either tomato or creamy sauce. Don't even get us started on their Hot Jollof Rice; it's smoky, flavourful, and everything you want jollof rice to be. They also have great sides like sweet potato fries and fried plantain fingers. And if you're looking for something lighter, they have a delicious brunch menu.

For drinks, they've got creative “Coahtails” options like The COAH Cooler, made with hibiscus, cucumber and lemon, plus milkshakes and smoothies (try their White Chocolate Cookie Milkshake;)

Their dessert menu is also impressive, featuring treats like Strawberry-Thyme Infused Coah Mess with hazelnut crumble and Zobo Poached Pear with vanilla ice cream.

Warm Service
The service at Coah Lagos is really something special. The staff are friendly and actually care about your experience. They check on you during your meal without being annoying, and they'll explain each dish so you know what you're getting. If you have questions, they're happy to help and never make you feel rushed.

A Dining Space That Looks and Feels Beautiful
The interior design at Coah Lagos is truly something to behold. The thoughtful combination of lush greenery and sleek modern aesthetics creates an atmosphere that feels both fresh and sophisticated.

Every corner of the restaurant has been carefully designed to create a space that's not just about eating, but about enjoying a complete sensory experience. The plants add life and warmth to the space, while the contemporary design elements make it feel current and stylish.

It’s on the Mainland!
One of the best things about Coah Lagos is that it's located right on the mainland, making it easily accessible for people who don't want to deal with the hassle of getting all the way to the Island. You can enjoy a high-quality dining experience without the typical Lagos Island traffic drama or the extra travel time that often comes with visiting upscale restaurants.

What to Consider

While Coah Lagos is great in many ways, there are a few things you should know before you go.

Menu Choices: The restaurant tends to make some of its sauces on the sweeter side, which might not be for everyone. Take the Braised BBQ Beef Short Ribs for example; the sauce is really sweet, which is perfect if you have a sweet tooth, but might be too much if you prefer more balanced flavours. The good news is they're flexible, so you can swap out one side dish for another and explore tastes while you’re there.

Other dishes, like the Creamy Smoked Chicken Penne, might be too mild for people who love bold flavours. The creamy sauce is well-made but quite gentle, so if you want something with more punch, ask for the tomato base instead. The staff are always happy to make these changes for you.

Reservations help: Walk-ins are typically welcome on weekdays, but on weekends booking ahead is required strictly.

Pricing: Meals at Coah are mid- to high-range, which puts Coah Lagos in the higher price range for Lagos restaurants, so expect to do a bit of spending for a full meal. The portions are good and the quality justifies the cost, but it's definitely more of a special occasion spot than an everyday place. It's perfect for family dinners, birthday celebrations, or a nice date night.

Parking: There's space available, but it can get tight during peak hours.

Opinion

💬
COAH Lagos is one of those places that gets the balance right; stylish without being stiff, relaxed but still refined. The greenery and modern design make the space feel fresh and welcoming, while the menu keeps things interesting with varied options. Service is friendly and attentive, though it can slow down a little when the place fills up. Making a reservation is a smart move, especially on weekends. Overall, COAH is a spot that delivers on both atmosphere and taste, and it’s easy to see why it’s become a favourite in Lagos.
